Customer Reviews
Nice tea set, good experience
I got one of their Japanese tea sets last week, specifically a Kyusu teapot and a couple of those small Chawan bowls. They arrived two days earlier than the tracking said, which was a nice surprise. Everything was packed really well, no chips or anything. The teapot pours nicely, and the bowls feel good in your hand. I'd totally shop here again.
Quick delivery, nice Chawan
Bought a Chawan. Arrived quickly. Product was as described. No issues. I would order again.
Decent value on first order
I was looking for a good deal on a Kyusu teapot and checked out a few stores. Master Craftsmanship had a 10% first order discount, which made their price competitive. The teapot itself is really nice, well-made. Shipping wasn't free, but with the discount, it felt like a fair price for the quality. I got a tea set that included a Kyusu teapot and two Chawan. I think it was worth it. Not a massive saving, but every bit helps.
Got a cool Maneki Neko
So I was browsing for some Japanese stuff for my living room, and I saw this cute Maneki Neko on Master Craftsmanship. It was pretty easy to order, and it got here way sooner than I thought, like, it came in maybe six days. It looks really authentic, not cheap at all. I stuck it by my door, and it just makes me smile every time I see it. Totally happy with it.
Good quality, careful packaging
I ordered a Santoku knife and a set of Mino ware rice bowls last month. The ordering process on the website was smooth, very straightforward to navigate. Both items arrived in about a week, which was faster than I expected for something shipping from Japan. The packaging for the ceramics was especially impressive; each bowl was individually wrapped and cushioned, arriving in perfect condition. The knife feels well-balanced and sharp, a real upgrade from my old one. The bowls are beautiful, just as pictured on the site. I had a question about knife care, and customer support responded within a day with detailed instructions. Overall, a very positive experience. I'm happy with the quality and the service.
Love my new Bento box!
Oh my gosh, I just received my new lacquerware Bento box and it is absolutely stunning! The detail is incredible, and it feels so well-made. I've been wanting a really authentic one for ages, and this totally exceeded my expectations. It arrived perfectly, all snug in its packaging, and it got here faster than I thought it would. I can't wait to use it for my lunch every day. This store is amazing, I'm already planning my next purchase!
Consistent quality, as always
This was my third order from Master Craftsmanship. I previously bought a Nambu Tekki kettle and some Arita ware plates, and this time I picked up a set of Tenugui towels and a Furoshiki cloth. Just like before, the quality is top-notch, and the items are exactly as pictured on the website. Shipping was reliable; it arrived within the estimated window, and everything was packaged super carefully, especially the ceramics. It's why I keep coming back – I know what I'm getting, and they always deliver. No surprises, which is exactly what I want from an online store.
Good deal on a Gyuto
I was looking for a good quality Gyuto knife and found one here during their artisan collection sale. I wasn't expecting a huge discount since their stuff is already pretty niche, but the 10% off definitely made a difference for a first-time buyer like me. It was still an investment, but the knife feels really solid and well-balanced. It arrived quicker than I thought it would, too. I compared prices with a few other places, and this was the best value for an authentic Japanese knife. Felt like a smart purchase overall.
Knife arrived fast
Ordered a Santoku knife. It shipped quickly. Packaging was secure. Knife is very sharp. Happy with my purchase.
Nice products, delivery could be faster
I purchased a Nambu Tekki kettle and an Edo Kiriko glass. Both items are genuinely high quality and beautifully crafted. The kettle is heavy and feels very durable, and the glass has exquisite detail. However, the delivery took about ten days, which felt a bit long, even for international shipping. I know these things take time, but a slightly quicker turnaround would be great. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the shipping status, so that was good. Overall, I'm satisfied with the products themselves and the service, just wishing for a little more speed on the shipping end.

Just signed up for the newsletter, but I don't see a discount code in my email yet. Do they send one automatically for new subscribers?
Is Master Craftsmanship legit? I've seen some other Japanese craft stores online, but sometimes they seem a bit sketchy.
Hey, thinking about grabbing one of those beautiful Arita ware plates, but I'm in New York. How long does shipping usually take to the US?
Are the items on this site really authentic? Like, actually made in Japan by artisans, or is it more like 'Japanese inspired' stuff?
Anyone know if their first order discount works on stuff that's already on sale? eyeing a cool bento box but it's in the clearance section.
